The
school has saved over £1500 and there has been no increase in fuel
transportation during the first heating season with the GREEN-TEC
boilers installed.
Ashwell Engineering
manufactured and installed two new 150kW boilers at Penywaun Infant
and Junior School in the summer of 2004.
These units are complete
with automatic ignition and include inverter control for maintaining
high efficiencies. Spot checks have recorded efficiencies at
94%.
If required a modem can
be fitted to monitor or control the boiler from a remote source.
These units are
specially designed to fit into sub terrain boiler houses with
limited access. They will fit through a standard doorway.
The existing bunker area
was re-designed to keep water out. The walls were angled and
plastic lined for optimum flow characteristics. A fuel level
indicator was included to show when the bunkers needed to be
refilled.
A cyclonic discharger
was also installed which will maintain the quality of the wood
pellet upon delivery by preventing degradation. It also
ensures even filling and maximum use of the bunker space.
